Educational Assistance
An Educational Assistance Program is available to the spouses and children of fallen police officers, firefighters and paramedics, and is in addition to the payment of debt at the time of a fatality. The program is for higher education, including trade and vocational schools, colleges, and universities - - and includes both undergraduate and graduate levels.

- 22 children are receiving educational assistance in the 2009 – 2010 school year
- 50 children are eligible for future educational assistance
- 1 widow is currently receiving educational assistance
- $280,000 in assistance is being provided in the 2009 – 2010 school year
- 217 children and spouses have received assistance since 1970
- $3,630,000 in assistance has been provided since 1970
