The 100 Club of Chicago
The 100 Club of Chicago is the civilian organization that provides for the families of police officers, firefighters and paramedics who have lost their lives in the line-of-duty. The Club helps families ease the financial burden associated with the tragic event, including immediate financial assistance and the ongoing cost of higher education. All federal, state, county and local police officers, firefighters and paramedics stationed in Cook County are included.
There in a Time of Need
Thousands of brave men and women who serve in public safety, police and fire departments throughout Cook County risk their lives on a daily basis so that we can be safe and secure in our homes, workplaces and communities. This includes federal, state, county and local public safety professionals who are stationed in the county. Yet, far too often, tragedy strikes and members of one of these departments lose their lives. While money can never replace the loss of a loved one, funds can be extremely helpful in easing the financial burden associated with the tragic event.
We Provide
When tragedy strikes in Cook County, the 100 Club of Chicago - the civilian organization that provides for the families of fallen police officers, firefighters and paramedics - immediately responds with financial support to help lessen the devastating effects.
An Educational Assistance Program is also available to the spouses and children of fallen police officers, firefighters and paramedics, and is in addition to the payment of debt at the time of a fatality. The program is for higher education, including trade and vocational schools, colleges, and universities - - and includes both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Consistent with its commitment to the families of fallen police officers, firefighters and paramedics, the 100 Club of Chicago also recognizes the valor displayed in the line-of-duty by today’s active-duty police officers, firefighters and paramedics. A special presentation ceremony is held annually for the Award recipients by the 100 Club of Chicago.
Community Impact
Since being founded in 1966, the 100 Club of Chicago has served the families of 238 fallen police officers, firefighters and paramedics, and provided financial and educational assistance in an amount exceeding $7,800,000.
